Madeline Isaac-James launches its new mainstream 2010 bridal collections (Bridal Buyer, Sep 2009)
Known - and hugely appreciated – for its fashion-right maternity bridal collection, this design house has gone on to introduce two additional labels at Harrogate.
The two latest collections from Madeline Isaac-James, Silhouette and Platinum, share the same timeless appeal and a touch of Hollywood-style glamour that will almost certainly contribute to their success. Both collections use luxurious fabrics – fine silks, sumptuous satins, taffeta, organza, tulle, chiffons and luxurious laces – and feature exquisite embroidery, beading and pleats to create wonderful silhouettes for the modern bride. Key colours for 2010 are ivory, blush pink and soft cappuccino.
The Silhouette Collection offers brides romantic wedding gowns that combine classic bridal styling with a modern twist, predominantly with A-line skirts, strapless bodices and beautifully embellishments, though there are two 1950s-inspired shorter-length dresses, in satin or taffeta.
The Platinum Collection includes flowing silk chiffons with the sparkle of crystals and beadwork on bodices, traditional full skirted Italian silk taffeta and shantung silk gowns, slinky yet sophisticated gowns in silk charmeuse and a particularly lovely group of fishtail silhouettes cut beautifully to give a bride that coveted hourglass figure (with a little help from in-built corsetry!).
Also launched at BBEH was a collection of stylish jackets, designed to co-ordinate across all collections, in taffeta, organza and tulle and with a range of design details from ruffles to exquisite beadwork.
Madeline Isaac-James, was one of the first UK companies to cater to the pregnant bride; its newest Maternity Bridal Collection again focused on enhancing, accentuating and flattering pregnant curves.
